| Abstract: | The documentation service as originally introduced in the National Metallurgical Laboratory, the drawbacks of this system and the details of a revised new approach to documentation which was subsequently evolved are discussed. The procedure followed for the collection, processing and use of the information under the new set-up, comparative advantages of the new approach over the previous method and problems faced in the development of the new system are presented. |
