Abstract: Combined convective flow of water at 4°C past a semi-infinite vertical plate whose temperature varies as xn is studied. Numerical solutions to local non-similarity equations are derived and the velocity and the temperature profiles are shown on graphs. It is observed that both velocity and temperature decrease with increasing 'n' when Gr/Re2>0. For Gr/Re2<0, the flow may become unstable. Skin friction decreases with increasing 'n' for Gr/Re2>0 and opposite is the case for Gr/Re2<0. The Nusselt number increases with increasing 'n' for both Gr/Re2><0.
