Abstract: The tribological performance of carbon and glass fibre reinforced poly-ether-ether-ketone (PEEK) for parallel (P) and normal orientation (N) has been conducted on pin-on-disc machine under dry sliding conditions. The influence of variables such as sliding distance, load, velocity, abrasive grit size has been investigated. It was observed that fibre orientation has a significant influence on tribological performance of the polymer composites. An increased friction and wear Was observed for parallel fibre orientation than normal fibre orientation. The dependence of the wear rate on the fibre orientation is difficult to model in a quantitative manner.
