Abstract: A theoretical model has been proposed to predict the extrusion die life on the basis of the fracture mechanics and the physically meaningful concept of fatigue. Monte-Carlo simulation technique is adopted to simulate the die life data. A comparison is also made with the real life data collected .from an extrusion plant. Weibull model is found to be a suitable distribution for the extrusion die life data.
