The preparation of anhydrous FeF3 has been investigated by solid state reaction of Fe2O3 with NH4HF2. The reaction has been studied in both vertical and horizontal reactors. The difficulties encountered in carrying out the reaction upto 50g charge scale are discussed. The horizontal reactor provides better control of the kinetic factors than the vertical reactor.en_US
