| Abstract: | The paper describes the various rapid filter operating variables that affect the various particle removal mechanisms. A methodology to evolve a predictive model for the overall filter efficiency is presented. The proposed model includes the effect of the weightage of the various parameters. The model can be extended to predict the bulk specific deposit at any time and depth of the filter bed by monitoring the operating and filter variables. Likewise, the presented model can be useful in exercising a control on the parameters that affect the effluent quality. |
