This paper presents the experimental investigations on EDM of high carbon high chromium die steel (hardened) with copper—tungsten electrode in respect of surface finish, over cut and out of roundness with varying currents, and different electrode rotations. An effort has also been made to compare these results with that of stationary electrodes. Experiments are statistically designed and a mathematical model of the process has been developed. It is found that the electrode rotation improves the surface finish and out of roundness. Out of roundness and accuracy are better in through-hole machining than blind-hole machining at all rotating speeds.en_US
