Adsorptive capacity of refuse derived fuel (RDF) has been tested for the decolourisation of waste water containing methylene blue. The effect of system variables such as concentration, temperature, pH, agitation speed and particle size have been studied to understand equilibrium and kinetics of adsorption process. The results show very good adsorptive capacity of RDF for methylene blue. The intraparticle diffusion is playing an important role in the adsorption process. The effect of temperature shows some chemical interactions between adsorbent/adsorbate system.en_US
