| Abstract: | A series of new macrocyclic arylates have been efficiently synthesized and unambiguously characterized by a combination of GPC, MS (FAB) and 1H NMR. These macrocycles undergo facile ring opening polymerization in the presence of anionic initiators to give high molecular weight polyarylates. |
