| Abstract: | The leaves of Crassocephalum cepridioides (Benth.) Moore has been investigated for its chemical
constituents. Germacrene D, caryophyllene oxide and linolenic acid ethyl
ester have been identified using GC-MS from petroleum ether extract. The
chloroform extract has been subjected to open column chromatography to get a
new compound, a polymer of pent-3-one, along with pentacontane, β-sitosterol
and β-sitosterol-α- -glucoside.
