| Abstract: | The structural properties of both anionic modified and normal poly(ethylene terephthalate) yarns have been studied as a function of four texturing variables, viz. draw ratio, D/Y ratio, first heater temperature and heating contact time. X-ray diffractometer, differential scanning calorimetry, density gradient column and dynamic modulus tester were used to analyze the structural properties of textured yarns. It is observed that draw ratio and first heater temperature affect the structure to a greater extent as compared to D/Y ratio and heating contact time. For any texturing condition, the degree of crystallinity of cationic dyeable polyester is less as compared to normal polyester. |
