Abstract: The influence of rotor speed, opening roller speed and draft on the characteristics of rotor-spun acrylic yarns has been studied using the Box and Behnken's 3-variable factorial design method. The yarns (20 s Ne) were spun from acrylic fibres of 51 mm staple length and 1.5 denier fineness. It is observed that the yarn tenacity increases with the increase in opening roller speed but decreases with the increase in rotor speed. Yarn unevenness increases with an increase in rotor speed and draft. However, it decreases with the increase in opening roller speed.
