| dc.description.abstract | 3-Aryl-5-[2'-(α-pyridophthalonyl)]rhodanines (IVa-e) were prepared by the treatment of 2-(2'-pyridyl N-oxide)indan-1,3-dione (II) with different arylrhodanines (IIIa-e) at 90°C in presence of acetic anhydride and their dyeing performance on polyester, polyacrylic and wool fibres was assessed. The effect of nature and orientation of substituents on the colour of these compounds was also studied. All the compounds showed good affinity towards wool fibres and have no affinity towards polyester and poly acrylic fibres. | en_US |
