| Abstract: | Five arylene bisazo 3-aminophenols (IVa-e) and their corresponding polycondensates with formaldehyde (Va-e) were prepared and their dyeing performance on nylon and polyester was assessed. The compounds IVa-e and Va-e gave yellow, orange, red and brown shades with moderate to good light and wash fastness on nylon and polyester. The polymerization of IVa-e with formaldehyde on dyed nylon and polyester was also carried out and the dyeing properties of polymerized compounds compared with those of the polymeric compounds Va-e. |
