| Abstract: | The core-wrapper ratio has a considerable influence on the characteristics of acrylic friction-spun yarns, followed by spinning speed. Supplying more than 40% wrapper fibres reduces the yarn strength, breaking extension and evenness due to the disorientation of wrapper fibres. Any increase in spinning speed with core wrapper ratio exceeding 60:40 results in a general deterioration in yarn tenacity, evenness and elongation. |
