| Abstract: | A hydrophilic acrylic fibre containing acrylonitrile terpolymer (acrylonitrile/methyl acrylate/sodium salt of 2-acrylamido-2-methylpropane-sulphonic acid) and small amount of cellulose derivative has been developed by conjugate spinning. This fibre has a rnicroporous structure that renders it highly water retentive with excellent drying and heat insulation properties. It has all the positive attributes of acrylic coupled with water imbibition properties of cotton. A comparison of hydrophilic acrylic fibre towel with cotton towel has also beenĀ made. |
