The effects of spinning drum speed, yam delivery rate, core-wrapper ratio and number of wrapper slivers on the quality characteristics of yams spun on a laboratory model DREF-3 friction spinning machine have been studied. It is observed that by and large, drum speed and per cent wrapper fibres determine the yarn tenacity while the delivery rate and the per cent core fibre content influence the yam unevenness.en_US
