| Abstract: | Three insect repellents, viz. N,N-diethylphenylacetamide (DEPA), N,N-diethyl-m-toluamide (DEET) and dimethylphthalate (DMP) have been evaluated against the larvae of Anthrenus flavipes LeConte (the furniture carpet beetle) and Tinea translucens Meyrick (the case making clothes-moth) through impregnation of wool fabric. Of these, only DEPA at 5% owf (effective conc., 1.45% owf) provides protection to the fabric from larval feeding of textile pests. |
