| dc.description.abstract | 2-Amino-6-nitrobenz[d,e]isoquinoline-1,3(2H)-dione was condensed with acetone, acetylacetone and acetophenone to form the corresponding hydrazones which were cyclized to give 3-nitro-7H-benzo[d,e]pyrazolo[5,1-a]isoquinolin-7-ones. The formation of hydrazones and cyclization was also carried out in a single step using phase transfer catalysis. The nitro compounds were converted to acetamido derivatives by reductive acetylation. The fluorescent properties of acetamido derivatives were studied. The acetamido derivatives were applied on polyester fibres as fluorescent brighteners which showed good whitening effects on polyester fibres. | en_US |
