| Abstract: | The use of potassium permanganate as a bleaching agent for cotton goods has been investigated The permanganate process has been found to be comparable with the conventional hypochlorite bleaching followed by hydrogen peroxide bleaching in terms of the physical and chemical properties of the bleached material. Moreover, it results in savings of about 16% in the cost of production and about 30% in process time. Also, the process gives environment-friendly effluent. |
