Abstract: A comparative study of three methods, viz. optical cross-section technique, forward light scattering and scanning electron microscopy, used for rapid determination of fibre diameter has been made. The results obtained by the forward light scattering technique have been found to be more accurate and sensitive than those obtained by the other two methods.
