| dc.description.abstract | The effect of four polyethylene glycol-fatty acid condensation products on the exhaustion of a disperse dye (C.I. Disperse Orange 13) in high-temperature high-pressure dyeing of polyester fibres was investigated. The experimental planning was done using a second order response surface design technique. The addition of polyethylene glycol-fatty acid condensation products affected dye exhaustion in two different ways depending upon dyeing temperature. At lower temperature (100°C) these products accelerated dye exhaustion by increasing dye solubility. At higher temperature (130°C), these products retarded dye exhaustion by further increasing dye solubility, which tends to retain a certain amount of dye in the dyebath. | en_US |
