Abstract: The static and dynamic frictional behaviours of dref and air jet yarns were examined using SITRA yarn friction measuring device. These yarns showed a higher coefficient of friction with reference to surfaces when compared with that of ring-spun yarn. The frictional behaviour of acrylic yarn was also studied. Acrylic yarns had a higher coefficient of friction then cotton yarns. Acrylic yarn, Processed in the cotton system, wore out the contact surfaces faster.
