| Abstract: | An increase in fibre length increases the percentage of hooks, the increase being higher for leading hooks. An increase in fibre denier increases trailing hooks but decreases leading hooks. The frictional characteristics of fibres appear to influence the incidence of hook formation. Polyester exhibits a greater tendency of hook formation than viscose, probably because of the higher coefficient of friction of polyester |
