The rheology of blends of polypropylene and high-density polyethylene (HDPE) was measured at 185, 200 and 215oC using Weissenberg cone and plate rheogoniometer. Fibres Were spun from these blends at 200oC and the mechanical properties of these fibres were measured using Instron tensile strength meter. The addition of small amounts of HPPE to polypropylene improved the tenacity considerably.en_US
