Seven colour difference equations have been tested against visual assessments in two different colour regions using two sets of fabric samples (olive green and brown fabrics used for army uniforms). In the brown region the CMC(2 : 1) equation has been found satisfactory and it agrees with the visual assessment of colour differences better than other equations. In the olive green region the JPC-79 equation agrees with the visual assessments of colour differences better than the other equations but the correlation is not satisfactory.en_US
