| Abstract: | Studies carried out in the last couple of years have shown that the ply spinning can be easily adapted to the cotton system of spinning. The quality of yarn thus produced has been found to be far superior to that of the conventional single yarn and quite comparable to that of the two-fold yarn. However, its abrasion resistance seems to be lower than that of the two-fold yarn. Formation of thin places and the necessity of complete removal of piecenings during winding could be two other important limiting factors. |
