The nature and magnitude of end-breakage rate in jute spinning when the flyer speed is varied over 3600 to 4000 rpm has been studied and an equation relating the two factors has been suggested. The optimal flyer speed has also been suggested from the study of the relationship between spinning productivity and flyer speed. For 10% reduction in end-breakage rate, the gain in spinning productivity was about 3%.en_US
