| Abstract: | A comparative study was made of the cover of plain and twill (3/1) weave fabrics, woven under the similar conditions. The theoretically calculated cover factor or cover of fabrics, expressed as a percentage, is independent of the weave of fabrics, but the actual fabric cover depends upon the fabric weave. The cover of fabrics was measured by an unconventional optical method, which takes into account the actual cross-sectional shape of the yarns on the fabric surface. |
