| Abstract: | The punching force, measured by an Instron tester with a model needle-loom mounted on it, increased with increase in web weight, web density, crimp in fibre, angle of laying of webs, and closeness and rigidity of the reinforcing material. Layering of web had no appreciable effect on punching force. The punching force increased with needle penetration initially and then dropped because of fibre breakage. |
