| Abstract: | The interaction between C.I. Direct Yellow 12 and C.I. Direct Blue I was studied spectrophotometrically as well as by measurements of conductivity and refractive index. In aqueous solutions containing different proportions of the two dyes, the formation of 1:2, 1:3 and 1: 4 complexes in molar proportions, in addition to 1:1 complex, was observed. The equilibrium constants and the heats of formation of the 1:1 and 1: 2 complexes were determined from spectroscopic data. |
