Abstract: The influence of fibre length and yarn twist multiplier on the tensile strength, breaking extension, flexural rigidity and flex abrasion of fabrics has been studied. The use of longer fibres in the preparation of yarn and latter's use in the weft direction in fabric production result in a stronger, more extensible, less flexible and more abrasion-resistant fabric. Increase in yarn twist multiplier results in a stronger, more extensible, less flexible and more abrasion-resistant fabric.
