The tenacity values of single fibres at 3 mm gauge length measured using Balls' magazine hair tester (BMHT)/Instron tensile tester (ITT) have been correlated with the tenacity values of fibre bundles obtained using Stelometer at the same gauge length. Irrespective of the instrument used, on an average only about 50% of the strength is realized when fibres are tested in the form of bundles. Good correlation exists between the elongation values for single fibres and fibre bundles.en_US
