| Abstract: | Study of the physical and mechano-chemical properties of pure, hetero and hairy fibres has indicated that the presence of medullated fibres in different wool breeds is the main factor responsible for the higher average micron and linear density values. The loss in strength on alkali and acid treatment is more in the case of hetero and hairy fibres than for pure fibres. |
