Abstract: Changes in some mechanical properties of polyester/cotton suiting’s were examined after the polyester content was reduced from 67 to 48, 35 and 25% both in the warp and weft yarns of a plain and twill weave with equal thread densities. The effect of such reduction in the weft direction alone was also examined in the twills, The changes arising from heat setting and resin treatments aimed at achieving a high wrinkle recovery performance were examined and the factors influencing these changes were identified.
