dc.description.abstractDegummed and bleached Tasar silk yarn has been dyed with a series of reactive dyes belonging to different chemical classes both in the absence and presence of potassium period ate. Greater degree of covalent fixation of these dyes on the silk has been achieved in the presence of potassium periodate than in its absence, the increases varying from 30 to 140%.en_US
