Six techniques for determining the Crystallinity of polyethylene Terephthalate fibres, five based on X-ray diffraction and one on density measurement, are evaluated on the basis of data obtained for a large number of samples. The advantages and shortcomings of various methods are discussed and it is concluded that for accurate work it would be advisable to compute Crystallinity by more than one method to ensure that the results do not show undue variations.en_US
