dc.description.abstractrylic acid was graft copolymerized onto nylon-6 fabric employing the-g-ray irradiation technique. The effect of heat treatment at constant length in the temperature range 200°-300°C on the mechanical properties of grafted nylon has been studied. The tensile properties of the grafted samples have been found to be unaffected by beat treatment up to 300°C, suggesting significantly improved thermal stability of nylon-6 as a consequence of radiation grafting. Heat treatment at constant length does not significantly affect the initial modulus as well as the yield stress of the grafted nylon.en_US
