Abstract: Two specimens of Dolabella auricularia were collected from Kayalpatinam, Gulf of Mannar at a depth range of 20 to 50 m (8° 33' 02.23" N and 78°24' 04.77" E) by using a drift gill net in a traditional fishing crafts. A literature review on the distribution of this species revealed that this is the first report of Dolabella auricularia from the Gulf of Mannar, Tuticorin coast of India. A note on the morphological features of this specimen is detailed in this paper.
