Several HF-broadcast transmissions of All India Radio were monitored to study the signal strength variations during total solar eclipse of 24 October 1995. The circuits were so chosen that their propagation paths are close to the path of totality of the eclipse. The study indicated that the increase in signal strength observed during the maximum obscuration period is not compatible with the predicted values, suggesting that the latest ITU-R formula underestimated the ionospheric absorption.en_US
