The results of the case study conducted to examine the effect of wind and temperature on laser beam scintillations in the air layer close to the ground are presented here. The temporal evolution of scintillation spectra during a 24-hour period of observation showed an association with that of wind speed spectra, especially in the nighttime. Strong nocturnal inversion conditions, inferred from vertical temperature gradient, are also found to be closely related to the strength of laser scintillations.en_US
