A scheme for generating clouds in a zonally quasi-symmetric model based on zonal anomalies expressed by wave-wave interactions is described. The interaction is assumed to take place between zonally propagating humidity wave and the vertical pressure velocity wave. Under steady-state conditions, this wave-wave interaction adequately describes the evolution of clouds, and the associated feedback can be adequately parameterized for statistical quasi-symmetric climate models.en_US
