Results of drift speed and direction of ionization irregularities by similar fade method in the E- and F-regions of the ionosphere over Patiala for the period 1987-88 are presented. Drift speed and direction show seasonal dependence. Daily variations in the speed and direction are also discussed. On comparison with the results of other workers, a large scale pattern of the motion of ionization irregularities in the E- and F-regions of the ionosphere over the latitudes is seen. However, the pattern in the equatorial electrojet is difference from the rest.en_US
