The function of a solar aspect sensor, which has been designed for pointing X-ray imaging telescope during the daytime, is described. The basic principle of this sensor is to obtain the position of the sun with respect to a reference point on the gondola, in which the X-ray telescope is mounted. An accuracy of 6 arc-min has been achieved in the pointing. It will be possible in the near future to use both the sun and the moon for the aspect sensing by adjusting the electronic thresholds and gains through telecommand.en_US
