| dc.description.abstract | An iterative inversion technique for retrieving vertical ozone profiles in the height range 20-40 km with 2 km height resolution is described; in the present retrieval technique, it is assumed that a laser heterodyne radiometer is flown on a balloon. Suitable contribution functions have been computed using Voigt profile above 30 km where Doppler broadening is dominant. Multi-channel approach is necessary to produce sharp vertical resolution. The present computations have been made in the 9.5 m wavelength region where a strong ozone absorption band exists. The ozone profiles obtained compare well with the measured data. | en_US |
