| Abstract: | Information on short duration precipitation rates is needed to predict the impact of rain on satellites communication system. Global rain rate models such as Crane and CCIR can be used for predicting 1-min rain rate for any place in the world. Both these models classify India into two regions which are not adequate to describe a vast region of varied climates. An attempt ha been made to provide an accurate description of rain rates for different regions in India, using hourly rainfall data obtained from 26 stations. |
