Abstract: Spaced receiver amplitude scintillation measurements were made at Tiruchirapalli (dip 4.8°N) during the year 1978 using 136 MHz beacon onboard the geostationary satellite ETS-2 (130°E). The occurrence of scintillations during night hours (18-06) has been studied for the three seasonal representative months of April, July and December, respectively. Drift velocities of the irregularities were studied for few nights during February. Eastward drifts were observed with speeds in the range 200-300 m/s at 21 hr and decreasing to about 100 m/s at 02 hrs local time. Full correlation and cross-spectral analyses were also applied to few samples of scintillations. Pattern sizes of about 300-500 m along E-W and about 2-3 km along N-S were obtained.
