Using an anisotropic and loss cone velocity distribution for the electrons, the dependence of whistler instability on plasma -parameter is investigated. It is found that for parallel propagation, the instability shows a strong dependence on the values, the temperature anisotropy ratio δ(=TT) the McIIwain parameter L, the geomagnetic latitude A and the frequency of the propagating wave.en_US
