Observations are presented of atmospheric waves generated by cyclone centres in the Bay of Bengal at remote inland locations with a dopplometer working at 10 MHz and two micro barographs. The micro barograph records ground level pressure fluctuations and the dopplometer records wavelike disturbances at ionospheric heights. Characteristic patterns could be identified in both the systems. The possibility of using suitably deployed systems for cyclone detection and monitoring is discussed.en_US
