Preliminary results of the observations on the amplitude scintillation of the 136 MHz signal from the geostationary satellite ETS-2 obtained simultaneously at the two low latitude stations of Waltair and Calcutta during the autumn of 1978 are presented. The percentage occurrences of nighttime scintillation are almost equal at both the stations. The onset time difference, which is generally different from the local time difference, at the two stations shows a range of 18-126 min. The scintillation onset is often associated with rapid changes in the Faraday rotation angles at both the stations.en_US
